Official Nike Italy home long sleeve football shirt from the 1996/97 international season. Complete with #6 on the back of the shirt in original flock numbering.

This is Nike's 'player issue' version of the jersey. It does not feature an embroidered 'Dri-Fit' motif on the sleeve or a Nike label near the lower front hem.

Condition of this original football jersey is 9/10 - Superb (see photos).

Italy did not progress beyond the group stage at the finals of Euro 96. Having defeated Russia 2–1 but lost to the Czech Republic by the same score, Italy required a win to be sure of progressing. 

Gianfranco Zola failed to convert a decisive penalty in a 0–0 draw against Germany, who eventually won the tournament [playing in the finals repeat of the group stage opening game between Germany and Czech Republic]. During the qualifying campaign for the 1998 FIFA World Cup the Azzurri beat England at Wembley for the second time with Zola scoring the only goal.
