OfficialĀ Puma Catalunya home football shirt from the 1998/99 season. Complete with #7 printed on the back of the shirt in official numbering, and original matching shorts.
This is Pumaās āplayer issueā version of the jersey, as worn by the players themselves. It features a printed squad number on the rear, no Puma motif near the lower hem, and a different size label inside the collar compared to the āregularā jersey.
Condition of this vintage football jersey is 9/10 ā Superb. A few little pulls on the lower rearĀ (player worn) (see photos).

As the Catalan Federation is affiliated to theĀ Royal Spanish Football FederationĀ as one of the several Spanish regional football federations, Catalonia cannot be affiliated with eitherĀ FIFAĀ orĀ UEFAĀ as a national member association and is therefore not allowed to participate in official competitions for national teams such as theĀ FIFA World CupĀ or theĀ UEFA European Championship. Other than in certain cases where other nationalities are involved, Catalan players are full Spanish citizens who are eligible to play forĀ Spain, and often do.
Since the restoration of democracy in the 1970s, the Catalonia representative team has regularly played international friendly matches. They put together a string of successful results against countries likeĀ Bulgaria,Ā Nigeria,Ā Yugoslavia,Ā LithuaniaĀ andĀ Chile. On 5 May 2002, Catalonia hosted Brazil in a warm up friendly game before the officialĀ 2002 World Cup. Brazil, who went on to win the official competition, beat Catalonia 3ā1.
In 2004, Brazil returned for a second friendly game and this time won 5ā2 at theĀ Camp Nou, where some months later Argentina defeated Catalonia 3ā0. The last friendly matches have been againstĀ Paraguay,Ā Costa Rica, Basque Country, Argentina andĀ Colombia.
