Near the end of regular time, after an unsuccessfulĀ diveĀ to draw a penalty, ArgentinianĀ Ariel OrtegaĀ head-buttedĀ Edwin van der Sar.Ā
Ortega was sent off and the Netherlands won 2ā1 after a Bergkamp goal in the 89th minute. Bergkamp's goal was famous because of its quality ā he touched down a 60-yard (55Ā m) pass fromĀ Frank de BoerĀ then reverse-flicked it insideĀ Roberto AyalaĀ and finally volleyed it past the Argentine goalkeeper.
