Essentially, this is the drill top manufactured for the 1998/99 season, however the sponsor has been covered over with the club's new partner, Dreamcast (Sega), the contract which would have come into effect sometime during the 1999 calendar year.
Condition of this original football jersey is 8/10 - Excellent. Light surface bobbling. A couple of small dot marks on the rear shoulderĀ (see photos).
in May 1999 Sampdoria were relegated from Serie A and did not return to the top flight until 2003. During this time, Sampdoria was acquired byĀ Riccardo Garrone, an Italian oil businessman. Sampdoria returned to Serie A in 2003 led by talismanĀ Francesco Flachi, and ended their first season in eighth place. After several more top-half finishes, managerĀ Walter NovellinoĀ gave way toĀ Walter MazzarriĀ in 2007.
