OriginalĀ Nike Barcelona home football shirt from the 2002/03 season. Complete with Iniesta #34 on the back of the shirt and original La Liga patch on the sleeve.
This is Nike's superior 'player issue' version of the jersey, as worn by the players. It features a second layer 'ventilated vest' sewn in to the shirt (aimed at improved temperature control).

Iniesta comes from a small village namedĀ FuentealbillaĀ in the province ofĀ Albacete,Ā CastileāLa Mancha. At the age of 12, while playing forĀ Albacete Balompié in a junior seven-a-side tournament inĀ Albacete, he attracted the attention of scouts from many clubs around Spain.Ā His parents knew the FC BarcelonaĀ youth team coach,Ā Enrique Orizaola, and he persuaded them to consider sending Iniesta to the Barcelona youth academy.
Iniesta traveled there with his parents and visitedĀ La Masia, the Spanish farmhouse where the Club houses its young players; the trip convinced them to enroll Iniesta in the Barcelona youth ranks.Ā Iniesta says he "cried rivers" the day he left forĀ La MasiaĀ and struggled being separated from his parents;Ā he was very shy and kept to himself while there.Ā He captained the Barcelona Under-15 team to victory in theĀ Nike Premier CupĀ of 1999, scoring the winning goal in the last minute of the final, and being named player of the tournament.
Iniesta came throughĀ La Masia, the Barcelona youth academyāafter an early emigration from his birthplace and impressed from an early age. He made his first-team debut in 2002, aged 18.Ā
