Sheffield United were founding members of the Premier LeagueĀ in theĀ 1992ā93 season, during which they scored the first ever goal of the competition.
They were relegated in 1994 and after losing play-off finals inĀ 1997Ā andĀ 2003, the club finally regained their Premier League status at the end of the 2005ā06 campaign under the stewardship of managerĀ Neil Warnock.
