The condition of this classic football jersey is 8/10 - Excellent. The size motif has faded inside the collar. Light wear to the sponsor. A couple of small faint dot marks on the lower front & one on the lower rear. The 'climacool' motif has faded near the lower hem Ā (see photos).

Å krtel made a bright start to theĀ 2008–09 season, starting in all but oneĀ Premier LeagueĀ match and displacing out of favourĀ Daniel AggerĀ to the bench. He put in a number of strong performances with defensive partner Jamie Carragher against many top teams, notably Manchester United, Everton andĀ Olympique MarseilleĀ in theĀ Champions League.

However, on 5 October 2008, Å krtel suffered a serious knee injury after falling awkwardly when challengingĀ Ched EvansĀ late in a game againstĀ Manchester City. Liverpool went on to win the game 3–2 but it was later confirmed the central defender had torn the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and would face up to eight weeks on the sidelines.

On 28 December 2008, Å krtel returned from injury as a late substitute in Liverpool's 5–1 away win atĀ Newcastle United.Ā He was a regular starter for Liverpool during the second half of the season, as the team finished second in the Premier League with 86 points.
